Modern Tiny House
Jefferson, NH
The Clients Goal:
The client approached us with a vision for a compact, multifunctional retreat that could serve both as a basecamp for their own family’s outdoor adventures—skiing, hiking, and year-round mountain activities—and as a short-term rental for guests. The challenge was to design a small-footprint home that could comfortably accommodate multiple families or groups without feeling cramped, while maintaining privacy and a strong connection to the natural surroundings. Flexibility, durability, and thoughtful spatial organization were critical—alongside the desire to maximize views of the property’s striking mountain landscape.
Our Solution:
Our design solution centered on a balance between communal gathering and private retreat. The heart of the tiny home is an open, light-filled living space where guests can cook, eat, and unwind together after a day outdoors. Flanking this central core are individual bedroom suites designed with privacy in mind—each offering a restful, self-contained experience whether used by the family or Airbnb guests. Working within a compact footprint, we used volume, light, and layout to create a sense of spaciousness and calm. Primary windows are carefully oriented toward the mountain view, allowing natural light and scenery to shape the interior experience. Durable finishes and minimal yet warm detailing reflect the home’s active use while blending into the surrounding alpine landscape.
