Inside Out Sun Room
Sudbury, MA
The Clients Goal:
Our client, a well-traveled individual with a deep appreciation for tropical environments, wanted to enhance their home with a sunroom addition that captured the feeling of the open, breezy spaces they had experienced abroad. The goal was to create a room that seamlessly connected with their deck and landscaped yard, offering a sense of escape and a strong connection to nature throughout the year. The challenge was to achieve this sense of openness and warmth while working within a climate that, let’s face it, is not exactly tropical.
Our Solution:
We designed a sunroom that brings the feeling of the tropics into the client’s everyday life while staying grounded in the realities of New England living. At the center of the design is a 16-foot-wide bifolding sliding glass door that opens the entire room to the outdoors, creating a seamless transition between inside and out. When fully open, the space becomes an extension of the deck, perfect for hosting guests or relaxing in the fresh air. Light finishes, natural materials, and thoughtful detailing create an airy atmosphere, while insulated construction ensures comfort through every season. The result is a space that feels like a tropical escape, even if there’s snow on the ground.
