The Clients Goal:
In this Boston brownstone, the client needed a kitchen that could truly support how they live. They love to host, and with a busy family life on top of that, the existing kitchen had become a daily frustration. The layout was inefficient, storage was limited, and too much of the hard-to-come-by square footage in a city home was being wasted. They wanted a space that felt welcoming and high-functioning for gatherings, while still handling the realities of weeknight dinners, backpacks, and everything in between. They also wanted a dedicated retreat within the home, somewhere to decompress at the end of a long day.
Our Solution:
We reimagined the kitchen to maximize every inch, improving circulation, adding meaningful storage, and creating a layout that supports both family routines and entertaining. The updated design is organized around clear work zones, generous prep surfaces, and a hosting-friendly flow that makes the space feel larger and easier to use. Alongside the kitchen renovation, we designed a speakeasy-inspired wine cellar as a hidden escape, creating a warm, intimate space for the homeowners to unwind, share a bottle, and step away from the pace of the day. The result is a brownstone renovation that balances high performance living with a quiet moment of indulgence.
