There is a growing popularity in New England for a modern approach on the farmhouse. This is often achieved by dressing up the traditional design with refined materials such as a metal roof and white vertical siding. This project is a case study to see how far we can push the contemporary look while staying true to the classic New England Style farmhouse. While we did use more contemporary materials, the true case study was adjusting the form of the building. A sweeping deck runs along the length of the house, as the house opens up to the landscape with floor to ceiling sliding glass doors, terminated by a indoor/outdoor fire place.
